Gaining Retainer Clients

If your bills are monthly then you need a business model that generates revenue on a predictable monthly basis. A friend on Facebook recently raised the question, “How do I convince my clients to pay me on a retainer?”

I was able to use www.cinchcast.com to quickly record my answer. (For those of you who don’t enjoy the writing process, I suggest that you use www.cinchcast.com as well)

The key points I stressed include:
– Focus on bigger companies
– Select a critical service that you can add value
– Position yourself as a lower-cost alternative to hiring a full-time staff

– Once you begin an assignment, seek to add other services
