How to Learn from Your Past

Tonight, Monday, February 7th, at 7pm EST is the final episode of The 16 Week Challenge WebTV Show (http://16weekchallenge.com/). What have you been doing over the past 16 weeks? Did you reach your goals? How was the journey? What lessons did you learn?

It was George Santayana who said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

One of the primary reasons I created “The 16 Week Challenge” was to give you a chance to pause and reflect every 16 weeks on where you are and what you intend to create.

Our final episode is about you sharing your BIG lessons during the past 16 weeks and putting them into practice. “Mastery is the rapid detection and recovery from error,” has become one of my favorite quotes from Nigel Henry of www.masteryunleashed.com. Join me tonight as we share our “errors” and develop a plan to rapidly recover from them.

Psycholgists remind us that 90% of our thinking and actions are habitual. If you desire to have a major breakthourgh in your life then consider using the lessons learned during The 16 Week Challenge to change your daily thoughts and actions.

Take the time to reflect on your recent 16 week journey and chart a course for a higher level of success.

A few of the insights I plan to discuss tonight include ….

1. Be Gentle with Yourself. So what you actually gained 20 pounds instead of losing 20 pounds. No need to beat yourself up.

2. Reflect on your Reactions. How did you respond to the distractions you faced during the past 16 weeks? You had a plan to exercise everyday but something came up that caused you to eat that extra slice of chocolate cake. What can you learn from your reaction to distractions?

3. Share Your Story. Ask a trusted confidant to offer feedback on what worked and did not work? Be open to annother person’s perspective on your life lesson’s.

4. Envision a NEW You. With one journey being over, it’s time to set sail and pursue your next 16 week goal. Armed with the lessons from the past, spend 10-minutes in quiet vizualization on the new you that’s set to emerge.
